Why don't you try Japanese traditional shodo when you come to Japan by traveling.
We open shodo classes for tourists from overseas. Professional tutors who has master license teach you Shodo.
We will book a rental space, a conference room near the hotel or the area you're staying. Or you can come by our shodo school in Shinjuku, Tokyo. You can go sightseeing after the lesson in Ginza, Asakusa in Tokyo.

You can learn about basic shodo, practicing favorite letters. Then you complete to write the letters on a postcard.

You can also write letters on a tiny kakejiku or a Japanese folding fan like uchiwa as option in trial shodo. It's very popular to use them as interior or a Japanese souvenir.
If you take an optional course, it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

In this class, You can learn much more deeper about Japanese calligraphy history and basic calligraphy and so on, more than the trial lessons. Professional tutors teach you thoroughly. We recommend for the student who wants to learn how to use a brush and about shodo more details for a long time.
And also if you would like to learn basic shodo intensively for a few days during your stay in Japan, we will offer a special curriculum. It is possible to continue to study shodo by a correspondence course after returning to your country if you like.

People who live in Japan or overseas can learn shodo in regular classes. You can take Shodo lessons 3 times a month in our shodo school in Tokyo, Shinjuku.
There are correspondence courses which Masumi and experienced tutor teach by email or Skype. (Available in English)
